I was in the church yard on Monday 22nd September 2014 and saw more Everard gravestones than are listed here. One was half buried and it looks as though several others are buried along the West wall. One I found in a pile of gravestones near the East entrance gate. Certainly when I last visited about ten years ago I was shown the grave of George Everard by a lady in the Church who appeared to know quite a lot about the Everard family. I would be interested to know why some of the gravestones are covered up.

Hi

The list of monumental inscriptions is a complete list of those recorded by the WI in the churchyard survey that they did many years ago. It’s not a list of burials, just the inscriptions that they noted.

You’ll find a list of burials prior between 1813 and 1891 on this site. There are more than 20 of your family listed there. For burials after 1891 you’d have to contact the church as I believe that the records are still held by them.

I’m guessing that any gravestones that are in a pile are damaged, awaiting repair or have been moved to save further damage, but that’s just a guess. You’d need to ask the vicar or church authorities for a definite answer. Contact details are on their website:

I hope that this helps.
